Michelle gained a greater understanding of the credit union movement when she attended the CCCU and WOCCU conferences, which stimulated her desire to increase her knowledge of the movement. To be better equipped to serve her local credit union, Michelle opted to complete the orientation courses for the Supervisory and the Credit Committees at the Barbados Co-operative & Credit Union League Ltd. Over the years, she had admired the versatility and sound financial management of the COB credit Union. And recently, she welcomed the opportunity to be of service to the staff, management and members of the credit union when she became a member of the Governance Committee, whose mandate was to focus on developing and amending its Corporate Governance and Code of Ethics policies to guide its elected officials.
